Switzerland debuted in WorldVision at WV04 in Uppsala and appeared twice more before withdrawing after WV06.  The nation returned in WV15 and has maintained a place in the competition ever since then. The country finished in the top 10 three times: 2008 Eurovision participant Paolo Meneguzzi finished 9th at WV19 in Helsinki, Stefanie Heinzmann finished 7th at WV21 in Barcelona, and Eluveitie finished 8th at WV29 in Malaga. At WV31 in Rio de Janeiro, the breakthrough into the top 5 was finally made when 77 Bombay Street finished 3rd overall. At WV34 in Glasgow, Anna Rossinelli gave Switzerland its first victory with 208 points.

Eliane finished third at WV36 in Kuala Lumpur and Kadebostany finished 5th at WV38 in Palermo, giving Switzerland 3 top 5 finishes in 5 recent editions.

Switzerland played host to the first WorldVision anniversary show in Geneva as well as WorldVision 35 in Lausanne and participated in the Congratulations event in the Faroe Islands.

  • Paolo Meneguzzi (WV19, WV24), Eluveitie (WV22, WV29), Adrian von Ziegler (WV30, WV39) and Sebalter (WV33, WV44) each took part in WorldVision twice. All qualified for the final both times except Adrian, who only qualified on his second attempt.
  • Anna Rossinelli (WV04, WV18, WV34) took part three times and qualified all three times.
  • 6 of Switzerland's representatives took part in Eurovision: Anna Rossinelli (WV04, WV18, WV34) in 2011, Sinplus (WV06) in 2012, Paolo Meneguzzi (WV19, WV24) in 2008, Lovebugs (WV26) in 2009, Sebalter (WV33, WV44) in 2014 and Diamá (WV42) in 2006 as part of Six4One.
